THE Citizens collective

A CURATED COLLECTIVE OF TALENTED MAKERS + WELL TRAVELED BRANDS

what + why

The Citizen's Collective is a semi-annual pop up market comprised of a curated collective of talented makers and well traveled brands. You'll find a variety of handcrafted goods and products made by passionate and talented creatives locally - right here in Toronto - as well as goods made in collaboration with master artisans in countries further abroad - like Mexico, Morocco, Kenya, and India. Everything from homewares and textiles to jewelry, clothing, accessories, skin + bodycare, artwork, paper goods, and much more!

(What you won't find are thoughtless, cheap mass produced tchotkes because nobody likes those.)

FOUNDERS

The Citizen's Collective was created by Jacquelyn, the founder of Jolie Laide, and Kisha, the found of Nomadic Citizen. The two met in 2016 and immediately hit it off over a shared passion of travel and working with artisans in developing countries. Over coffee one day while both sharing their frustration at a lack of pop up markets for businesses like their own - ones that worked collaboratively with artisans abroad to create thoughtfully designed handmade goods - they decided to create what they felt was missing. Thus, The Citizen's Collective was born - not only for makers who create their goods locally, but also for brands who collaborate with and support artisans abroad.

The immediate and continued response has been overwhelmingly positive as the interest and demand for goods with a story continues to grow.
